My Project

Problem statement: Students' vision impairment causes difficulty in reading the following letters "p, b, and d", and 2 and 5 numbers. It is the reality that students will use assistive technology like computers and headphones and an audiobook subscription to read spoken word documents. We will use high-quality headphones to listen to the stories and navigate written materials. The best alternate way to teach dyslexic students is to rely on the use of auditory senses. Visual impairment produces biased responses.

Mister Nas's class goal is to present a video book from a large screen like a smart board or projector, but when the screen is smaller like a laptop, vision-impaired learners rely on auditory stimulation to receive and interact.

Thus headphones are playing the role of removing barriers.

Objective:

To provide access to audiobooks and video books related to ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

Purpose:

This initiative aims to bridge the learning gap for students with disability.

Key Benefits (IEP goal-oriented):

1. Developing Life Skills

Tools like text-to-speech apps and VoiceOver will empower students to memorize.

2. Reading and Comprehension Support

Text-to-speech features enable students to listen to written content, word recognition, comprehension, and retention.

3. Improving Writing Skills

By equipping students with these tools, we can empower them to:

• Gain independence and confidence in navigating daily life.

• Strengthen their academic skills in reading and writing.

• Enhance their ability to communicate effectively in real-world scenarios.
