Brian's Hunt for Fifth Graders

My students need twenty copies each of Gary Paulsen's 'The River', 'Brian's Winter', and 'Brian's Hunt'.

I teach fifth graders in Utah. My students live in a very urban environment with 45% free lunch, so they are unable to have many of the experiences of other kids like going to the country.

At the beginning of the year, my students began reading 'Hatchet' by Gary Paulsen and are enthralled with how he survived in the wilderness. They want to read more about Brian, but I don't have the books they need. They have all expressed a desire to hear what happens next.

I need twenty copies of Gary Paulsen's sequels so that my students can keep learning about the wilderness and how to read better. My students finished the first book in half the time I expected because they were so interested and I don't want to slow them down.

This has been a real opportunity to get both my boys as well as my girls truly excited about a main character and his adventures. The kids are so busy learning what happened to Brian that they forget they are also learning to read.
