My Students

Here in my classroom students find themselves as ambassadors, teachers, friends, and leaders. We strive to teach students to be well rounded students. We are always working together to make a positive impact on our community, both here at school and around our city. I strive to get students to be mindful in their actions, and positive in their thoughts.

My students are citizens of the world, and their impact on each other and the world will not be fully seen until many years from now.

My Project

Imagine an education system in which every teacher embodies their whole and brilliant self—and every student unleashes the potential of their mind and body to create the life they want to live. Breathe For Change envisions all teachers and students inspired, educated, and supported to transform their lives, relationships, and communities. My students come from very struggling families, and I am so excited to bring back this knowledge of mindfulness and coping to skills. Students in my school have high needs and high trauma. Often we need to teach calming and coping skills to both staff and students. Breathe for Change will teach me how to start a wellness program that includes culturally sensitive practices for self calming and mindful behavior.
