My Students
I teach science to a diverse group of sixth graders. Each one has a unique story. Over half of my students receive free or reduced lunch. Even though many do not have much when it comes to materials, they all have huge hearts. They are full of curiosity and very eager to learn. Science can be both exciting and challenging for them. They are truly an amazing group. My ultimate goal is to provide them with the tools they need to have a successful future.
My Project
The Breakout EDU kit will allow students to build on their STEM skills. The kit allows the teacher to create their own breakout session in the classroom. The kit also include access to the online breakout software. With this tool, the teacher can create virtual breakout sessions that tie into science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. These breakouts are both a challenging and fun way for students to learn. They get so excited they don’t even realize how much they are learning and growing during a breakout session. Breakouts are also a great way for students to learn team building skills. The session requires them to work together as a team to be able to break out.
