Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are enthusiastic 4th and 8th graders who love to learn about reading, math, social studies, and science. They gain more information when their lessons have tangible materials in their hands. They love to use technology to enhance their learning.
They come to school to learn how to be a contributing member of our school community by learning about the world around them.
My students come from low socio-economic backgrounds. They come from different cultures, and some speak two languages. These various backgrounds help them bring different knowledge about the world with them to each lesson.
My Project
Teaching students in this technology age can be challenging to keep their attention. They are used to games and instant responses. Breakout EDU includes 800 premade games and various items needed to play such as lock boxes, locks, and invisible ink pens.
Breakout EDU will allow my students to review their learning while working in groups and yet they will be competing against other classmates.
This type of game-like learning increases student engagement therefore students do not always realize that they are learning. Students will need to solve clues in order to open lock boxes to get the next clue. The team who opens them all wins the game.
