My Students

The students in my 8th grade history class come from a variety of backgrounds and income levels. They range from honors students to struggling students on IEPs. Although they range in abilities, they all enjoy hands-on learning. They get excited to collaborate and learn in new and engaging ways.

My students require different types of learning strategies and face different educational challenges.

I have many students that struggle with reading and writing and need additional attention. I find that projects work best for them and that they like to work together to figure things out.

My advanced students like to be challenged and are eager to learn and engage in different activities. They enjoy solving puzzles, reading about historical events and working together to understand history. I constantly strive to find activities that will challenge all of my students and allow them to learn in a fun, creative environment.

My Project

The Breakout EDU Kit I am requesting for this project will challenge my students to "think outside of the box" and will motivate them to work together to solve problems. Students will be encouraged to unlock puzzles and to learn in a new and exciting way.

Students will collaborate and learn to analyze and interpret clues to solve puzzles about US History.

This will engage the students and allow students to use critical thinking to "breakout" and find the answers that will open all the locks.

This is an engaging activity that gets all students involved and encourages all students to learn.
