Breakout EDU to Break Into Critical Thinking!

My Students

My students crave mystery. They want to solve puzzles, use their imagination, and work together to be successful.

My fourth grade classroom is set in a rural environment.

My students come to school eager to learn and excited about what each day may bring. I want our classroom to be a place where students work together to solve problems and learn from each other. In a time when STEM learning is increasingly important, my students will learn to use BreakoutEDU boxes to find answers that are not immediately in front of them.

My Project

Escape rooms are a popular recreational activity and Breakout EDU has brought this into the classroom. The concept is simple: take a wooden box, add a hasp and a few locks, and provide clues. Let the students’ natural curiosity and excitement do the rest. By the end, students will have hopefully found and figured out all of the clues, enabling them to unlock all the locks and complete the game before time runs out.

It's time for something different in schools.

Imagine students participating in Breakout EDU sessions instead of mindless worksheets. The kit in my cart will be used to develop and play the learning games. Students will have to collaborate to solve riddles based on math and history content to unlock the locks, read invisible ink, and unlock the entire hasp to open the box. Isn't this a better way to learn?
