Help me give my students access to a BreakoutEdu Subscription to increase engagement and build their collaboration, critical thinking, and communication skills as they solve real-world problems.

This is my first year in this school, and we have limited access to technology for student use. My Panthers are learning to become personally responsible for delivering excellence in their academics and behavior. Based on surveys and diagnostic assessments, it is obvious students have varying learning ability levels and modalities. Currently, more than sixty-five percent of my students are labeled not grade level proficient in reading. This may be because of their environment outside of school that at times forces them to set aside childhood, and replace it with adulting - having to care for siblings, worry about safety, and whether or not their basic needs will be met for the day. As a result, they have limited opportunities to practice and review what they have learned beyond the classroom. This is why my classroom has to be a place where they can just be a child and learn in meaningful ways that empower and enrich their lives.
I WANT STUDENTS to engage in experiences that develop their life literacy.
They do not need a dummied down classroom experience, but explicit instruction that engages and helps them build bridges to pathways of understanding as they seek to close achievement gaps.
In a world of gaming and virtual reality, students crave challenges at school, although many seem disengaged. During this time of year, we focus on reinforcing skills assessed on our state tests. This is where a subscription to BreakoutEdu proves to be beneficial for promoting students' ability to apply critical thinking, listening, reasoning, and reading skills, while also promoting their social and emotional learning. Students will use the Breakout Edu kits to launch lessons, review already taught material, and reflect upon learning. To solve the problems, students must work as a team strategically. They also learn and apply conflict resolution and leadership skills as it takes compromise, collaboration, patience, and active listening, all of which produce effective communication, to crack the codes.
Breakout EDU games take project-based social and emotional learning to the next level.
Each kit comes with all the materials you will need and year-long access to all 800+ Breakout EDU Games. As the teacher, I get access to the Digital Game Creator and the ability to create Breakout EDU Classes where students can create content specific games to reinforce core skills. College and workforce ready students need to exhibit strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills; all of which will be enhanced through engagement with the kits. In essence, this type of tactile-kinesthetic learning gives all students a chance to engage in learning without stifling their ability, creativity, or excitement while challenging them to think “outside the box”. Imagine the authentic learning that will take place when kids break out of learning infused with routine differentiation practices.
