In my classroom, we treat each other as family members. The students are all friends and have an understanding that they must work together to learn. Each student in my class of 54 are unique and special in a way that touches my heart on a daily basis. They have a love of learning and reading and a love for each other. There is compassion, friendship, problem solving, and analytical thinking that happens seamlessly throughout the day.
Not only is my classroom a family, but my school is also a larger family.
There is a common language and a common love for all students throughout the building. Many times, you will see the students helping each other, even when they do not know them personally. People can find our students engaged in learning throughout the whole building. This community of my classroom and the school are unique, in that learning and relationships are fostered in an authentic manner. Students, faculty, and staff are one collective unit working together.
My Project
These two Breakout EDU kits will make a difference in our students' learning because they will be able to engage in their content and material in a different manner. Instead of sitting in the classroom learning through direct instruction, students will be able to "breakout" their learning. Students will be given a task to unlock different codes that relate to a multitude of standards.
Students will be able to work collaboratively, using their content-based knowledge to "breakout the classroom".
They will work together to solve different problems that directly relate to their classroom learning. This will improve their school lives because they will be able to gain knowledge through interactive and collaborative learning.
