We are the Tigers surrounded by the inner city struggles of urban education. The majority of our students are African-American/Hispanic population with 90% of our student body receiving free or reduced-price lunch.
We operate in a historical building that was elegant in the 1930's but has since been outdated which brings dangerous conditions to our students and staff daily.
Although we have trials and tribulations, we have managed to boost our climate and culture throughout the building, and we have committed ourselves to be the "Best Middle School" in our district. We have dedicated ourselves to promote school pride and family values.
The first days of school will be extremely different this year. The students, and teachers will have to build a rapport virtually. The materials from Teachers Pay Teachers will help engage the students in creative activities to help build the climate, and culture of the classroom; helping with peer interaction, and teacher knowledge of students, learning styles, and classroom virtual procedures.
The prepared lessons by other teachers help save time when lesson planning because the resources are instant, and DIGITAL!
