Germs are NOT for sharing! This has been a constant battle with my students this school year. My students are excellent at sharing items with each other. Unfortunately, they are also sharing their germs. We have not had 100% attendance for over one month.
I teach in a Title One School where the majority of our students receive free or reduced lunch.
I have a 23 energetic and kind kindergarten students this year. They enter the classroom each day ready to learn and excited for the day. Even though we had talked about how to prevent the spread of germs, my class this year is struggling with staying healthy. Many students have been absent for 2-3 days at a time. A huge part of a student's educational success comes from consistent attendance at school. I am requesting hygiene life essentials for my classroom to help prevent the spread of germs.
My Project
The students will be involved in lessons about proper hand washing. By having ample paper towels and antibacterial hand soap, students will always have the resources to keep their hands clean. With colder temperatures arriving, so does the cold and flu season. Tissues and hand sanitizer will be a life saver during this time. I will use the disinfecting wipes to wipe down tables and door handles each day (multiple times a day).
My students will have access to these products to help keep them healthy and able to concentrate on their school work.
Many of my students are unable to purchase their own hand sanitizer, and often come into school dirty. By providing these life essentials in my classroom, my students will be able to learn proper hygiene skills.
