My students are 4th grade mathematicians and scientists. They learn best when they are engaged and comfortable. My students benefit from learning in small math groups and with hands-on materials that let them practice and show their skills in a safe and comfortable way.
Our school is a Title I school, which means we have high percentages of students coming from low-income families.
Each child should have the absolute best education they can get. Each day my students look forward to coming to school to grow and achieve great things!
My Project
Breakout kits and escape rooms are all the rage! Just look at any social media and you'll find ads and pictures of escape rooms. I want to use this engaging theme to immerse my students in their math content. Building breakout kits allows me to meet the SC College and Career Readiness Standards and build social skills in my students.
Breakout kits will encourage my students to engage in 21st century skills while motivating them in exciting and challenging practices.
Students will work in cooperative teams to problem solve and think critically to break open their box. Students will practice the math skills they've learned in class and apply those strategies to achieve their goals. Fostering deep thinking, engaging minds, and memorable tasks are goals mine as a teacher. Help me show my students how to apply their learning in a fun and safe way!
