My students need supplies, such as a variety of locks, UV flashlights to reveal clues, flash drives for viewing video clues, etc. to complete high interest games, such as Escape Room, for review.
With budget cuts becoming more and more of a reality in my state, my students are facing less and less in our classrooms. My students need basic supplies in order to complete assignments in class, complete group work, games, projects, and more.
My students are 7th graders in North Carolina.
We have a completely diverse population and range from extremely high ability levels to extremely low ability levels. A lot of them come from single-parent families, and therefore they might not always get the support that they need at home. My students come in every day, eager for fun activities to help them remain engaged in the learning process.
My Project
My project is to gain the following items in order to complete the break out kits that I started to build this past school year. When I have created and implemented these games, I have had 100% participation!
Students have been engaged, excited, and applying the information that they have learned in class in order to get the final lock open.
I have picked up some items along the way this year from the dollar store, etc. in order to complete these games, but I have learned that I need to use heavier duty materials if they are going to withstand the excitement during the competition among 7th graders!
