This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Each year I am excited to enter the new school year. This coming year is even more exciting because my students and I will be starting the year in a new school!
My goal is to create a school and classroom environment that is inviting, engaging, meaningful and full of passion!
My classroom is a safe place where learning is fun but adds meaning to their lives.
Although I don't know my students yet, I already know that it is going to be such a special group of students! I cannot wait to meet them and see the unique qualities that they bring to our class. My students will be from a low-income area and they deserve the best! Thanks to your donations, I will continue to be able to do whatever I can to help my students succeed and move on to be successful members of society!
My Project
Scholastic News is an incredible, kid-friendly magazine. This magazine provides students with articles about current events around the world at their level. These magazines give students an opportunity to find facts and information about topics in order to form their own opinions. This will help our students to learn about the world outside of their community through school and classroom resources.
As a passionate educator, I am always looking for ways to get students excited about reading.
Scholastic News is not only written at the grade level of the student, but it is presented in an engaging way. While our students are getting excited about learning about the world around them, they will also be practicing valuable reading and writing skills.
Our elementary school is a brand new school and we are so excited to get started with the new year! These magazines will benefit not just my class, but the entire school! We cannot wait to start using these magazines in all classrooms!
