Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our middle schoolers are excellent students who were dealt a hand that they have no control of, but they still come to school every single day and try their best to prove the statistics wrong.

Our middle school students are more than just underprivileged kids in the Mississippi Delta.

They are also ambassadors in our community. Our middle school is on its way to being a top-rated school in the Mississippi Delta, and my students need your help celebrating that title of distinction through experiences and resources.

My Project

We have officially brought Accelerated Reader (AR) back to our middle school! Every teacher in the school is collaborating with the librarian to hold each scholar accountable for reading an AR book and taking the test.

To celebrate the achievement of the students with high AR points, we will host our inaugural "Breakfast of Champions" on our campus.

This event will highlight those students who have stuck with the AR program throughout the school year, earned points, and passed their AR tests. Students will enjoy a full spread of their choice of pancakes, waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, fruit, water and/or juice, all while receiving awards and prizes in an "around the world" theme.
