Many of the students at our school come from military families. Being from a military family comes with many different challenges to include deployed family members, moving from school to school, leaving friends, and so much more. In addition to having a transient population, many students come from economically disadvantaged (ED) or low-income families. Over 1/3 of our school's students are classified as ED. In addition, over 1/3 of my students have special needs. I have an extremely dynamic group of students.
Several of the students in my class have special needs that can be met through materials that allow them to be active and hands on.
My students want to learn, they love being active learners. My students enjoy being able to complete hands-on projects and activities.
My Project
My students LOVE activities that allow them to think critically, collaborate, be hands on, and get out of their seats. We are ditching the workbooks and worksheets. In order to do that, we need materials that will allow students to work together to solve clues. Clues are standard based and will help enhance and deepen their understanding of content across the curriculum. With the Breakout EDU kit, students will be able to do just that.
Working with a range of students from all different backgrounds, it is important that I am able to engage on all levels.
With the Breakout EDU kit, I will be able to immerse my students into a new world of learning.
