My Kindergarten classroom is full of energetic five and six-year-old students who are eager to learn! We love exploring new things, interacting with each other, and discovering more about our world and ourselves.
We are always bustling with activity!
We are detectives discovering new words, letters, and a purpose for reading. We are scientists discovering how the world works. We are mathematicians investigating shapes and measuring all objects. We are artists, singers, readers, athletes, and, most importantly, friends. Each child brings their own personality and skills to our classroom environment, and that is what makes our whole class unique!
My Project
It is so important to expose students at an early age to critical thinking and problem solving. Often students feel a disconnect between the content they are learning and it's real life application. We are asking for a breakout box that we will use to connect math, reasoning, reading, analysis, science, history, engineering, and any and all other disciplines we wish to solve a problem and work together towards a common goal. We will learn to work together while having fun in the process.
Students don't realize how much they know until they have to actually use what they've learned.
Breakout EDUs are escape rooms for the classroom. Students work collaboratively to solve different critical thinking problems and use content related clues to unlock a variety of locks. Inside the different boxes are more complex problems for students to solve. Breakouts encourage critical thinking, teamwork, and logical thinking. I will be able to personalize the activities for my students to make the challenges meaningful to each child in my classroom. Even Kindergarteners can be successful with Breakout!
