This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I work with the most amazing students! Although my students face an immense amount of challenges in their daily lives, they are always eager to learn and come to school with smiles on their faces! My school is located in the heart of a location with an immense amount of poverty. About 50% of the students at my school are English Language learners, meaning their primary language is something other than English. This presents another challenge as educators, but it also deepens the rich culture and diverse backgrounds that comprise our student population!
I work as a Special Education teacher, teaching students with intellectual and behavior disabilities.
My students struggle with many basic learning tasks, so it is my job to provide instruction that engages and excites them about learning! My students love to play games and use colorful, hands-on activities. They are an extremely lively and energetic bunch that I am very lucky to get the opportunity to work with!
My Project
My students with behavior disorders work hard to earn their brain breaks during the day! These students would love some new toys and activities that they are interested in. Having toys that are interesting to the students will give them motivation to work hard and earn time with the toys they love! These new toys would be loved on all day long! My students are interested in Play Dough, Paw Patrol, Mario Kart, and ROBLOX. My students would earn these break items during their break times. Students would be very excited to earn these new and exciting break items!! We would be very thankful to have new items in our classroom.
