Our school is in an urban area in Virginia. We take pride in being the most diverse elementary school in our district and represent about 30 different languages that are spoken by our students. Our students and teachers love books and make reading a special part of each day. Along with motivating our students to read books they enjoy, our teachers are always working to increase our students' academic achievement and social-emotional skills. We are proud of our school community!
My Project
The Scholastic Branches are always coming out with new and amazing series to capture transitional readers. Our second, third, and even fourth graders love reading these books and work to completing each Branches series that they try. The Last Firehawk just came out this year and our students can't wait to have it in our school. The animals in the book work together to save the world against the bad guys in an adventurous journey thought the woods. Haggis and Tank are two dogs that go on their own sets of humorous adventures together. These are two more must-have series that will support our students' love for reading!
