My Students

As a teacher of English Language Learners in a school where most of the students are from low-income families, my students face obstacles both inside and outside of the classroom. The students that I serve are primarily in Kindergarten through 2nd grade and new to the English Language.

Though my students may face challenges, it is my hope to provide them with a space where they are comfortable enough to take risks and find success!

My students are always eager to learn a new language and I am just as eager to provide them with learning experiences to help them in their journey to becoming English speakers!

My Project

A 1 year subscription to BrainPOP for ELLs will have a positive impact on those students who haven't recently arrived in the USA. These students are at the very beginning stages of learning English and need as many opportunities to practice as possible.

By having access to BrainPOP ELL students will be able to practice English skills at their individual level.

Students are initially assessed to determine a placement level and then are given assignments to work on at their level.

By giving newcomers as many opportunities to practice as possible, we will be able to increase their skills at a more rapid rate.
