My name is Mrs. Wotortsi and I am an Intervention Specialist for students K-5. When my students come into the classroom they know they are entering a safe place where they can learn, grow, and explore.
My school works overtime to provide a positive academic, social, and emotional environment for our children.
We believe one of the best ways to do this is to provide students the opportunity to build classroom relationships and learn alongside one another. Through small groups, high interest, hands-on learning our school is working to close the achievement gap.
My Project
This project will be used to provide the intervention classroom with supplies to make learning engaging and fun. With your donations, math interventions can include board games and fluency practice. Reading interventions become acting, drawing and creating.
Research shows that game-based learning is highly effective!
The intervention classroom should feel like an extension of the learning taking place in the students' homeroom classrooms. These materials and supplies will help contribute to the learning environment and encourage students to set goals and take risks in their small group learning. Through cooperative gameplay and hands-on learning our students will have everything needed to grow their brains and close the achievement gap.
