Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our high school is filled with fun, creative, and active students. Many of them are dual enrolled with the local Junior College. Academic demands, social issues, moving from schooling at home to full time in person instruction. These are just a few things students are facing right now.
Students need a break.
The kids who frequent the library often use the space to decompress, relax, and connect with friends. Our library well used, often visited by 250+ unique students per day. We would like to offer them some games and activities to help them relax and take a brain break.
My Project
Our students are working hard to achieve academic success. In the last 4 years they have faced multiple wildfires in addition to the challenges presented by the pandemic. The moves from school to at home learning, then back to full time in school has been stressful for may students.
These kids need a brain break!
A moment of fun provided by quick crafts and board games in the library can help reset and refresh students to help them focus in class. Please consider helping them relax and prepare to meet their goals.
