Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We love teaching first grade! Our students are full of questions, energy, enthusiasm and determination!
First grade is such an important year for kids.
Our students are learning and growing everyday, not only academically but socially as well.
Our goal for my students is to have them fall in love with school so that they will become life long learners.
We thank you so much for helping us create a classroom where we can grow, thrive and have fun learning together!
My Project
Our students work hard every single day. We would like to create "brain break bins" for our students. These bins would be used as a "break" for 8-10 minutes daily.
During the break, students will have an opportunity to explore, create, and collaborate with open-ended materials in the bins.
Each bin will be full of fun materials that the students will be excited to build with. Play-Doh, Brain Toys, Magformers, Clip Connect Building Blocks Discs Sets,
Squigz Starter, and NextX Building Blocks will enable creativity, curiosity, imagination, and build social skills such as teamwork. It will provide students with an opportunity to collaborate with their peers and problem solve. We know our students will LOVE using the bins.
