Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The girls' basketball program at BOYCP is full of hard-working, committed, and responsible young women.
The girls' basketball program is full of well-balanced individuals who work hard, on and off the court, in order to secure a bright future for themselves.
All year, our student-athletes look forward to basketball season, and many of the girls do not have the resources to purchase shoes and proper equipment to participate in the sport at a higher level.
Regardless of skill level, the girls always come to the gym ready and willing to leave it all on the court, in hopes of improving their skills and working hard towards what they are passionate about.
Every day, their commitment leads to improvement and working collectively towards having an amazing season. These young ladies create a magnificent bond with each other and inspire others to push forward and give one hundred percent day in and day out. Not only are they learning about the game and skills related to it, but they are coming in and learning about leadership, commitment, communication, teamwork, and balance in order to become more well-rounded young women, on and off the basketball court.
My Project
Your contribution to our efforts to get new basketballs and dribble goggles to use in our practices will help us work towards our program's ultimate goals.
Our project will help our student-athletes continue to develop not only their love of the game, but also their skills in commitment, teamwork, and hard work.
These skills are vital for a young woman, and the opportunity that our project will present to members of the BOYCP Girls' Basketball Program has the potential to be life-changing. Ultimately, our goal is to continue to encourage involvement in athletics while simultaneously supporting our young women's personal and collective development off the basketball court.
