Have you ever experienced what it's like to learn to play an instrument? My beginner students face many challenges as they learn to navigate the world of the cello or bass. My advanced students are ready for the next level, but can't continue to advance until the equipment is up to date.
The students in my classes are highly motivated and choose to come to the school for its arts curriculum.
Many of them choose to be at the school for the orchestra program in an urban area of North Carolina. 42% of the school's population live in poverty, and therefore, they use a school instrument and bow. The instruments last a long time, but unfortunately the bows do not.
My Project
When a beginner student has quality equipment that allows them to produce a full and beautiful tone on cello or bass, the possibilities are endless! I want all of my students to have the opportunity to be as successful as they can be, without having to worry about horsehair falling out or the winding of a bow sliding all over the bow.
When my advanced students are working on advanced bowings such as spiccato, martele, and ricochet, I want them to have success from the start with a quality bow. These bows will allow students to achieve to their potential.
Receiving these new bows will impact current students in the orchestra program, and will continue to serve students beyond this school year.
Please help me inspire success with quality equipment!
