Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our tittle 1 school has a very diverse student population. Our students come from different countries and many are in the process of assimilating a completely new culture. Participating in the Orchestra Program helps them feel accepted within a nurturing and creative environment.

My students are young adolescents with the desire to master a musical instrument.

Their dedication and commitment to music education has proven to inspire them in many areas of life. They feel part of a supportive group that works together to set and achieve goals.

My Project

After years of continuous use, the bows used in our Strings Program are no longer effective; they either break in the most unexpected and inconvenient moments or just miss so much bow hair that it is impossible to create a decent tone with them.

In order to continue their training in violin, viola, and double bass, my students need new bows and rosin.

In addition, my students are currently sharing a few pieces of rosin, which make the preparation process for our class/concerts very lengthy, taking from instructional time.

With new bows and rosin my students will be able to further study there amazing musical instruments!
