Students come everyday eager to learn the music that is put in from of them. They bring their own individuality to the classroom. Each day is a new musical experience for them. It is exciting to see these students not only grow as student musicians but as young adults.
Not being in a traditional classroom, students are able to express their individual personalities through music.
Some of the students grow to be amazing leaders for the orchestra and the school.
Learning to play in tune is one of the hardest concepts for a young string player. Intonation starts with the bow. These are items that need to be replaced once they get old or broken. Tuners are also a great way to be able to show students how to fix intonation. As a young musician, having that visual reference helps while their musical ear is developing.
The overall goal is to make sure that students feel a sense of accomplishment whether it is in classroom or performing in an ensemble.
Having these tools help to be one step closer in achieving this goal.
