My Students
Our students are a creative group of first graders who are excited about learning new things. They are not afraid to express themselves and seem to thirst for knowledge. They are like sponges when it comes to learning about something new. Most of them do not have the resources they need at home, to assist in their education, so I feel that it is important that they receive those things at school. I have always been a believer in the old African proverb..."It takes a village to raise a child."
My Project
The students will use the write and wipe pockets when answering comprehension questions or for solving math problems, as a way to save paper. They will use the sentence strips when practicing letter formation and basic writing skills. The word books will be used as a source to look up sight words when writing stories on their lined paper.
This year the students will be seated at tables instead of desks, so they will use the classroom baskets for storing all of their materials and supplies.
The additional items requested will also equip, enrich, and enlighten the students as they embrace their adventure in the first grade!
