My students are a curious, caring group of kindergarten students who are just beginning their educational journey. They are full of excitement and wonder for learning. Their attitude toward school and learning is contagious!
My students live in a rural community and come from a variety of backgrounds.
Some have not been able to bring the basic supplies needed to succeed in school. Our school serves students with a wide variety of needs, with many students receiving free or reduced lunches.
My Project
My students need the bouncy bands, stability chairs, and Sit Spots to help them move actively while learning. I have personally witnessed the benefit of flexible seating options in my classroom and I know that my students will benefit even more from having additional seating options. My students are able to focus better when sitting in a comfortable seat, rather than a standard chair.
My students are excited and energetic about learning, but sometimes their wiggles get in the way of their activities!
These five and six-year-old's need movement throughout the day and will get it any way they can. Allowing them to move while working will benefit their bodies and their minds!
