Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My hard-working, motivated students come to school ready to make the most of their education. I am a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district where my students face with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. The majority of my students are English Language Learners and receive free or reduced price breakfast and lunch. My students are creative, clever, and have positive attitudes in the classroom, despite any difficulties they face.
My students deserve high-quality resources to support their access to a high-quality education.
My students are eager to learn and do their best, and I aim to do anything I can to meet their needs! Throughout the day I teach 70 students.
My Project
My students need Bouncy Bands for chairs so that they can get their wiggles out while they are seated. We are trying out alternative seating in our class and these will hopefully be the next addition. Although I do have students up and about during class, they are seated for extended periods and these bouncy bands will allow them to get their wiggles out and increase focus.
These Bouncy Bands will allow my students to keep their feet moving while allowing their brains to focus on the content.
With state testing coming up, I know that the seats with the Bouncy Bands will be the most popular. The 144-pack of AmazonBasics pencils and LifeSavers mint sugar will arm my 70 students with what they need to ace the test we’ve been preparing for all year. Additionally, the Vkey velcro dots and Xfasten magnetic tape will allow us to display student work on the walls to keep our space colorful.
