Our small community includes a wide variety of family backgrounds. It is a unique blend of military families, families that have been in the community for generations, and families that have transplanted to our commuter town for a higher quality of life.
My students are amazing, active individuals with unique needs.
Their energy and enthusiasm are irrepressible. Their minds and bodies are in constant motion. Many of my students have special health, academic and/or emotional needs. All of my students have indomitable spirits.
My Project
Bouncy Bands help reduce anxiety and improve student focus. If funded, the bands will be on every student desk in my fifth grade classroom, providing relief and an energy outlet for 100+ students each day as we rotate for different subjects.

Research has made great gains in our understanding of how the brain works and factors that contribute to learning. Activity and a sense of well being are two critical factors required to keep the brain alert and ready to learn. Bouncy bands are one tool that can help support creating that environmental condition.
