I am a third grade teacher in a low-income, Title I school. All students receive free lunch. They are an energetic, passionate and inquisitive group of individuals. We are in the most crime rated community, surrounded by limited parks and playground area. Despite having ample opportunities and access to physical activities, many of our students may never experience quality time with their family.
With indoor activities and event centers nearly 30 minutes away and limited amount of parents with cars, only few of our students and families have experienced the joy and excitement of activities together.
We are a Title I school and many of our students go home to empty houses while their parents work full-time jobs to make ends meet. It is our mission, at my school, to provide free, fun, family events that give back to our community. We want our students and families to take a moment from life's busy rush to enjoy each other and to be part of an extended family of friends, teachers, and students, creating the village that it truly takes to raise a healthy child.
Our elementary is on a mission to include and bring families together. We want to continue to offer loving and fun environment where all are welcome. By funding this project, donors are giving the gift of time with families, teachers, and friends to come together in many activities that are planned throughout the school year.
In purchasing a large, inflatable bouncy house it will help draw our families and students.
This bouncy house will help ensure that we continue to offer these popular family fun attractions at various school functions.
In the past, we have had much success with these events; however, renting the equipment is very costly.
