Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach early childhood students ages 3-6 who are on the autism spectrum. My school is located in a large urban school district, and the majority of my students are high-need.

The majority of students who have autism also have a variety of sensory needs as well. This can also be described as not feeling "grounded". In order for them to develop a sense of "grounding" and to be available for learning and minimize inappropriate behaviors, the children need to receive censorial input.

The resources that I would like to purchase include Body Socks, Sensory Scarves, and large exercise balls. These items would allow the students to bounce, twirl,cuddle and experience different textures. This would allow them to get the input that they so desperately need.

Your help will ensure that my students are able to get the sensory input that they need.
