Help me give my students an opportunity to use their athletic ability in active outdoor play. Using a variety of balls, my students will continue to learn to throw, kick, bounce and dribble their way to fitness.
Our school is a small K-8, school in rural Northern California. My class is 1 of 2, first grade classes at our school.
My students are enthusiastic learners, full of excitement and energy who love being outdoors.
Active and energetic would describe my students. They look forward to art, reading, P.E. and gardening outside whenever possible.
As first graders, they have a love for learning and are learning new skills daily. They actively participate in class projects and encourage each other in their efforts.
My Project
The use of different balls during physical education give students the opportunity to learn eye hand coordination, catching and throwing skills, and helps to strengthen their kicking and jumping ability.
Students will work together in learning groups with the Chinese jump ropes, at 4 square, kickball and bouncy ball races.
Teamwork is a necessary 21st century skill that I want my students to learn.
My students will love being outside getting physically fit with these terrific balls and jump ropes. I can already see the enthusiasm, energy and excitement on my students faces when this new equipment arrives. HERE WE GO!
