My fourth grade students are eager to learn and broaden their academic abilities each and every day.I teach at a low income based school and unfortunately most my students are required to get themselves to and from school on a daily basis, even taking care of their younger siblings. For most, I am their constant. In my class, I try and take those responsibilities away while providing them with fun, energetic, and hands on activities.
"When you have teachers saying, 'I don't have enough time for hands-on activities,' we need to rethink the way we do education."
Wouldn't you want to learn and have fun at the same time? Currently my students are stuck in those BORING plastic chairs where they constantly slouch and and tip on every single day! The ability and need for students to sit up straight, makes it easier for students to pay attention and process the information being presented to them. Especially for those with sensory processing disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or just a strong need to fidget.
The Waliki ball chairs are a fantastic way to ensure that every minute of the school day is upbeat and fun for every single student!
These chairs would be a great way to combine learning and exercise in to my classroom as well. Brain breaks are often needed and these are the perfect "two in one" materials in order to do so. My students would be able to have brain breaks in a matter of seconds by simply grabbing their Waliki ball chair and using it as an exercise component!
