My students need 15 stability ball chairs to complete our classroom set. The chairs will go at our writing, art, and reading table.
This project expired on September 29, 2014.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
If you could improve your child's posture and help them focus in class while allowing the movement he/she needs, would you do it? You probably answered yes, because these factors improve our learning environment. Stability balls will help us bounce through Kindergarten!
I have the best group of students!!
They are smart, loving and very energetic. They are excited to learn and love coming to school each day. I am fortunate enough to share my passion and love of learning with them. One of our favorite classroom activities is exercising and dancing because we are up moving and getting our "wiggles" out!
We will use the stability balls at our carpet area during whole group instruction and also at our desks when doing work.
There are 3 main purposes for using the stability ball and incorporating movement into the classroom:
1. Movement increases blood flow to the brain, which is better for brain function (and learning!).
2. Movement helps children "get the wiggles out" which aides their natural need to move. This helps them focus by expending the excess energy they build up throughout the day.
3. Sitting on a stability ball supports and builds their core muscles.
Stability balls will improve the overall atmosphere of our classroom.
My students' focus will increase and in turn they will do better on their work. The stability balls will not only increase learning but will promote students to live a healthy and fit life!
