My students need Yoga Ball Chairs to provide them the opportunity for simple movement. This will lower their sensory frustrations allowing for greater concentration on class instruction and assignment completion, making them more successful students.
My students are energetic, eager to learn, hard-working, and fun. They are a diverse group of unique individuals all striving to overcome learning and sensory obstacles in order to achieve their academic goals.
Students are not only distracted by their cellphones and friends, their sensory issues also affect their ability to fully focus on instruction and assignment completion.
My students who have sensory and attention disorders struggle to sit in hard, traditional classroom chairs, making it almost impossible to focus on their academics in my classroom.
All the students in my classroom are struggling learners who are impacted by memory, processing and focusing issues that cause them to need additional support to be successful in school. Despite their struggles, these students strive for success and push themselves to be the best students and people they can be. Providing them with every tool possible for success is my goal.
All students struggle with focus from time to time. In my Special Education classroom, my students struggle to focus and concentrate all the time. Working on concentration and focus is a daily task for my students.
Research suggests when students sit on Yoga Balls both sides of their brain are engaged, and when the brain is stimulated, it is more focused on learning.
Rather than discipline a child for movement they cannot control, my desire is to channel their energy in a positive way.
Yoga balls will provide them the opportunity for simple movement, helping to lower their sensory frustrations and concentrate on the task at hand. This will allow for greater opportunity to be successful in class instruction and assignment completion.
