Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am going into my fourth year of teaching and am super excited. I normally have a mixed group of students. However, the majority of my students are English language learners and for some, English is not spoken in their homes at all. Last year, one of my student's fathers was deported and he was the only English speaker in that home. I strive to have the best environment in my classroom to give all of my students the same opportunity to succeed.
My Project
My students love the wobble chairs we recently got for our classroom. I wanted to get the bouncy chairs to give them more options to have flexible seating when completing independent work. These bouncy chairs will give students the opportunity to continue moving while being able to complete their work. I also love to reward my students. Every Friday, if they are on a good color on the clip chart, they get to come to the treasure box and pick out a prize. I need more prizes because my students are so awesome this year, and I am almost out of prizes in the treasure box. We also need ink for our classroom printer. The students are working on typing up their own stories and printing them out!
