Environment sets the tone for classroom dynamics and learning. Most adults have certain preferences for the ideal space to work at their optimal level.
It's no different for my fourth grade students who are active learners and need the option to "wiggle" and work.
Allowing for non disruptive flexible seating can help students get the movement they need without distracting others. It may be at a table or a quiet spot somewhere in the room.
Having options for different ways to get movement in the classroom gives my students a variety of options for places to work and read in a comfortable and enjoyable environment which will help to create an optimal learning space during classwork time as well as testing.
Bouncy Bands will help students move while they work at their desk and improve time on task since any pent up energy can be distributed to the bands. This means the students are able to direct their focus onto their work.
These bands are also very flexible and can be installed onto any desk.
This makes it so that any student needing or wanting to use this option can easily move it to their desk.
It is also an ideal option because it is a way to give students the ability to channel their active energy in a quiet and no- disruptive way while working on their assignments and tests while sitting at a desk.
