Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach pre-K through 8th grade in an urban environment. My students are very energetic and excited when they arrive to class. They love playing new games and activities during the school day.

My students do not receive much physical activity outside of school due to the dangers of their environment.

When they are in the gym, I try to make the most out of each class by maximizing participation. The more equipment I have the more my students will be able to experience.

My Project

Next year my school will be forming an elementary basketball team for boys and girls in grades 3-5. We are in need of basketballs to help make their season successful.

After school sports are a great way to teach kids both physical and social skills which will help them learn how to be productive members of society.

My students live in a dangerous neighborhood which leaves them little to do after school. More after-school sports are needed to help keep them safe while exercising and learning about expectations. Please help to support my students by donating to their after-school basketball team.
