My students are 4th grade mathematicians and scientists. They are a curious group, that enjoys learning by using different tools and technologies. Our school is a rural school that loves kiddos from Pre-K until they are in 8th grade. This allows teachers and students to form relationships that are unique and strong.
A 4th grader's curiosity is contagious and pushes me to think out of the box when planning lessons.
Many of my kiddos are visual and hands-on learners and my classroom reflects that. I strive to teach them mistakes are a good thing and that is the only way we learn. Every year I am blown away by how much my students, love to learn and next year (and the years to come) will be no different!
My Project
Everyone is different. We learn in different ways and what is comfortable for one, may not be for another. Flexible seating allows students to take ownership of their learning environment. Walking into my classroom you may find students laying on the carpet, siting under tables and using clipboards. You will also see students are on task and working hard.
Donating to this project will give my students more flexible seating options and ultimately help them focus and learn in an environment that they are comfortable in.
The products that I have selected will give students more variety in their seating choices. The stability balls allow students wiggle and bounce without causing disruptions. The stools will be used at our standing table where students are able to stand up when needed without blocking other students' view. All of these seating options can be used in many different ways to best accommodate my students!
