This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our Pre-K class is composed of 17 energetic students to who are eager to learn. Their enthusiasm for learning new things is a fascinating thing to see! Most of the children come from low income households and many of the students attend daycare or after school programs.
Each student is unique and we have many different learning styles, and therefore many types of materials are needed to reinforce learning objectives.
Some children are visual learners, while others need to touch and manipulate objects to understand a concept. Many of the students are kinesthetic learners, movement in our classroom is very important!
My Project
We can use the playground balls for free-play, which fosters creativity and imagination. We can also use them for specific learning objectives, making lessons more engaging and memorable.
Purchasing these playground balls would help the children improve hand-eye coordination, strength and flexibility as well as encourage teamwork and cooperation.
We are working on social skills as well as fine-tuning physical skills on the playground. These skills carry over into everyday life.
We hope to help the children develop a love of sports and outdoor activities. Our students love to move and we try to provide them with ample opportunity to exercise. The items purchased will help the children meet our goal!
