My Students

In a world where people cringe at the idea of 13 and 14 year-olds, I truly value their vibrant and outgoing personalities. I teach English/Language Arts to a diverse group of learners who have shown me that they truly excel in a collaboration setting and when their voices are heard.

I try to customize my classroom to each learner from TED talks, speeches, debates, Blackout poetry, historical research papers and 6 word photo essays, each child is challenged with a variety of opportunities.

I have noticed that as the years have gone by, so have students' ability to sit still for long periods of time and their level of engagement has been challenging. I am hoping to meet the changing needs of students and continue to be the best teacher possible, while instilling a love for reading and writing in and out of the classroom.

My Project

These Zenergy Ball Chairs will give students the opportunities to have movement breaks without being disruptive and continue working in the collaborative environment that we value. We sit in tables and pods for conferencing and group work already so these would be spread out through the room as bonus seats for those students that need a "brain break" or just a change of scenery.

These Zenergy Ball Chairs would support my mission of flexible seating and community engagement with less disruptions of rolling chairs and breaks outside the room.

These would be available for all learners and I know they would be so appreciative!
