My Students
We are a fully public elementary school with an extremely unique population of children as we serve students with language-based learning differences such as dyslexia. This means that many students who come to our school are struggling to read or cannot read at all. We service these children by offering a different type of education, a multi-sensory, whole body approach and intensive reading interventions. This will be our second year in operation! The success of the first year brings tears to our parents' and teachers' eyes!
After years of struggling with reading, these children are finally reading!
My Project
PCS is a school that is designed for students with dyslexia. Coding is hard for many of the students at PCS because their is a text component which makes coding and programming extremely difficult for many students.
Coding with Botleys uses pictures which removes that barrier to text and reading thus making coding accessible to all students at PCS!
This project will enable all students to gain coding skills despite their reading abilities. This project will enable the students who typically struggle the most to work independently which will empower them and teach them perserverance and problem solving.
