it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students
My school is a Title I school with the highest level of low socio-economic students in a military community. I work with special education students in two inclusion classrooms, a kindergarten and first grade classroom.
Some students have never been out of their small town and some students have moved 2-3 times since they were born from one military station to another.
Some students only eat at school and others wear the same uniform shirt and pants over and over yet come to school just waiting to learn more about their world.
My Project
Botley the Coding Robot will introduce students to coding without the use of a screen. The activity set includes different things that will allow the students to really explore and learn. This robot is engaging and allows students to move away from the desk and chair and allow them to interact more with the robot and each other.
Currently coding is not something they see or understand and if it is shown to them early they will become excited and engaged in something that could really spark an interest in them.
One day this could be a very rewarding and lucrative career choice they would not have otherwise been exposed to.
