Welcome to our elementary media center! Over the last few years, we have found ways to completely transform our library. Our students love new technology and building, so we have created a Maker Faire space! The students visit our makerspace throughout the day to create, explore, and think! We are a STEM Media Center and always find ways to incorporate science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics.
The most exciting thing I see as a teacher is when I see my students working really hard to be innovative and problem-solve.
I love watching them think through situations to possible outcomes! Having a STEM makerspace media center allows me to challenge children in a fun way, every day!
My Project
Botley the robot is a hands-on interactive robot that challenges students with a STEM twist! Students will have the opportunity to work in collaborative groups to create, explore, and take risks with Botley. Botley is a coding robot, so students have the opportunity to code him to complete tasks. He also comes with obstacles and props that can be set up to create a chain reaction. Once the students set up his challenge, they code him to complete each obstacle and off Botley goes!
Botley creates a fun, interactive STEM challenge for students that requires them to work together to achieve a goal!
I love watching students really think in order to complete a challenge!
