This year is my 21st year in education. It is a blessing to spend my days at this beautiful community school in the spectacular mountains of Western North Carolina. My drive to work is full of beautiful landscapes. My school is kindergarten through fifth grade, with fewer than 150 students.
We may be small, but our dreams are big.
The community is deeply invested in the education and nurturing of each student. Economic status does not provide a barrier to learning; instead, it provides a challenge this school accepts on a daily basis. With your help, we can give these deserving students everything they need!
My Project
Never coded before? No problem. Botley is ready to use right out of the box. Botley is suitable for children as young as 5, but he can grow with them as well so they will have many fun years together! Botley comes with coding cards, detachable arms, interactive obstacles, coding games and more. Botley has an easy to use remote programmer, which transmits commands! This means, no smartphone or tablet is needed! Students will be able to code Botley for up to 120 steps, loop him and program him to go around objects with his if/then logic. And that’s not all – Botley even has hidden features to unlock!
