This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are in a self-contained autistic classroom.
We are in need of many sensory items and project-based items to enhance learning.
The school is located in the Southwest section of the city of Philadelphia and many students come from single parent or foster homes.
Funding will give the students the edge they need to be successful in school and in the community.
My students like to try new things but are often afraid to take a chance because they are lacking previous knowledge. Botley will introduce another side of technology in an innovative and fun fashion while building a foundation in coding. Children can use their imagination while developing a skill that may be a career interest in years to come,
My Project
My students can not participate in school coding week because they do not have the technological background. Botley will introduce and develop the coding skills and allow students to interact with the general education population and participate in projects where there was previously no interaction.
Students will have the opportunity to learn through play.
Students in the autistic support classroom will be able to experience success through hands-on fun learning! Practicing and learning with Botley will provide an introduction to coding, which the students seem to enjoy, and the knowledge and confidence to proceed with higher level coding programs.
