Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school saying is, "Better today than yesterday! Better tomorrow than today!" I want to make their tomorrow better!
My class consists of a diverse group of learners.
My class has 26-second grade students of varying abilities. The socio-economic background of our students is 97% free/reduced lunch.
I teach in an urban inner city school rich with diversity.
Most of my students need additional learning material to meet grade level expectations. Please help me to make tomorrow better for them!
My Project
My students would really enjoy learning how to code! I would love to bring STEM learning with coding to our second graders! I would love to expose my students to STEM and coding using Botley The Coding Robots and Action Challenge Accessory Packs.
I want to give my students the opportunity to learn new technology in the second grade classroom by incorporating STEM learning into their day.
I feel it is important that I offer them exposure to 21st century skills with STEM in our classroom. My students are 7 years old and really enjoy learning in our blended learning classroom for Literacy, Math and Science. We use the Google Classroom for all three disciplines throughout our day.
During cooperative centers in Math and Science I would love to introduce STEM and Coding to my students. They would be able to learn how to code together in small groups and work out different coding activities. STEM learning is so important to engage learners in the classroom and expose them to science, technology, math, and engineering concepts at their level so they continue to excel in these areas in the future.I would love to open the world of STEM and coding up to my second graders!
These coding robots are simple and easy to use as well as age appropriate for my second grade learners. I can't wait to see my second graders coding with Botley Robots!
