The students in my classroom are kind, passionate, and they love to learn about and care for living things.
I serve "typical" students, students receiving Gifted Services, and students receiving Special Education Services. All of my students receive no-cost breakfast and lunch. They have many interests, as well as many different academic and social needs. Most of all, they love to be actively engaged in what they are learning!
My Project
Our classroom is filled with growth, both through our plants and the students who care for them. Already this year we have cared for over a dozen indoor plants, planted maple trees, and shared mini herbs with our students' families. Our students have loved taking on the responsibility and beg to do more. They are now ready to begin work on our winter vegetable garden.
Growing a winter vegetable garden in our classroom will continue the learning our students have begun through research and hard work.
They will plant individual seeds, care for them daily, and work to ensure they thrive well enough to be transplanted into our school garden in the spring. All the while, they are continuing their growth through learning accountability and empathy for living things.
